So when I interviewd Mike Goldsworthy I was told to “Dive like Mike.” I needed clarification though so I’m going to share that with you so you can “dive like Mike” too. So that means that it used to be very conservative until he got bent. Stay shallow above everyone else. So there’s your definition of “dive like Mike.” So know that you know, it’s time to meet Mike.
How did you get started diving?
Something I always wanted to do. When I was in the military in my early 20’s I wanted to dive but I had a choice between Karate and diving (late 68-69). I was being shipped out to Vietnam and figured karate might be handier. I got my karate from Chuck Norris before he was famous Chuck Norris.
How long have you been diving?
How many dives do you make in a typical year?

Where is your favorite place to dive?
What is your most comical dive experience?
The time when we were in Roatan and in our off day we decided to go white water rafting. It was awesome. They gave you a test before you go so we had to do swim tests. Grady and Steve Carlson kept messing with the boat guide. I was with Deb and Jan. They kept splashing our guide with water. Our guide said paddle and we were paddling as hard as we could. We hit their raft and Grady and Steve went flying in the air. Leslie fell in the bottom of the boat and Grady and Steve fell on top of her. If you have ever heard a sailor cuss, she put them to shame. Then at the end of the trip we were covered in mud. We had to wade in almost knee deep. They hauled us to a taxi cab and trashed it with mud. Then when we got to the airport we were in our swimsuits. We had to try and clean up in the airport. The lady just got done cleaning the bathroom and we messed up her bathroom. Then we got on a plane that was loaded with chicken crates in the back.
I have lots of stories!

Dive like Mike, drink like Grady. And dive while you’re young. Dive as much as you can!
