KC Chiefs – Extreme Sports Scuba style obviously!
Now I know that not all Extreme Sports Scuba Divers are fans of the Kansas City Chiefs, but some of us are, in fact, Dan La Due and Grady Weston are Red Coaters so I think that one Chiefs post a season is okay . Promise I won’t bombard you with Extreme Chiefs Posts… lol . So since Sunday October 26th’s game was so Great, I feel like recapping this particular game.
This was a noon game so we needed to get there early so we could tailgate! That’s very important people!

Instructor Interviews – Doug Lord
Let’s play a little game, it’s called, “Have you met Doug?” (Do you get the reference?? It’s from How I Met Your Mother, but we’re not trying to get Doug a date.)
So who is Doug? Doug is husband to Rachele, a Swimmer, a Hunter, a Fisherman, a Photography enthusiest, and he likes to play Chess. 17th Annual Extreme Sports Scuba Underwater Pumpkin Carving
Does anyone else feel like this year is just flying by? We’re already in the middle, technically more toward the end of October. Where has the month and year gone? Yes, that sounds so cliché but it’s true. This past Sunday was the 17th Annual Underwater Pumpkin Carving Contest. The weather was perfect. The day was Partly Sunny and topped out at 67 degrees.
When everyone arrived it was time to get signed up, geared up and the pumpkins down to the water. Rules stated that the pumpkins couldn’t have any markings on them and they had to be whole (not gutted). And no electric knives were allowed, haha!
Junior Diver Interviews – Cailee Lake
Happy Birthday to you… Happy Birthday to you… It happens to be Cailee Lake’s Birthday, Happy birthday to her! And rumor has it she’s a teenager today. So have you met Cailee? She is Lee Lake’s daughter and Chloe Lake‘s older sister. If you haven’t, don’t worry, I have you covered… check out her interview and you’ll know a little more! So without further adu, Cailee Lake.

She had to think… Because it was something my dad did.

Going to see the plane at Mermet Springs

Tumbling, Volleyball, Basketball, Softball, track, Soccer, and I really like school.

October Extreme Dive Club Meeting – 2014
Tonight’s dive club meeting was Baked Potatoes with all the fixins. (We’re from SWMO, Fixins is allowed. ) Fixins include Chili, BBQ Beef, Sour Cream, Cheese, Ranch, Bacon, Onions, Peppers, Broccoli. Plus desserts. You missed out if you weren’t here.
Junior Diver Interviews – Tori Willoughby
This next junior diver we are about to meet is very near and dear to my heart because I just so happened to be married to her daddy which makes her mine too! Last summer Mark Willoughby and I (Nicole Willoughby) became certified scuba divers and that’s what she kept telling us she wanted to do as well. Now she’s one of those who has a winter birthday, in fact it is 8 days after Christmas (January 2nd) so she got this as a Christmas present (and dive boots for her birthday) and after 5 months of waiting, she was finally able to put her Christmas present to use; she finally became certifed this summer and now it’s a family affair… well we are waiting on Addison but it will be a while there. Anyway without further adu, let’s meet Tori Willoughby!
Why did you want to become certified?
Because it’s fun.

I am a second.
What is your favorite diving experience so far?

Mermet Springs Dive Traditions: Fat Edd’s Roadhouse
I really think that I’m starting to sound like a broken record when I talk about how much we like to eat. Think about it though, Scuba Diving is a sport and people who play sports exert energy. Exerting energy makes you hungry and the way to calm that hunger is to eat. There I have made a case as to why we like to eat so much, do you agree with me?
But let’s get back to today’s post, okay? So every trip to Mermet Springs tends to bring about a trip to Fat Edd’s as a group on Saturday night. Now Fat Edd’s has had a few different names so depending on who you are talking to and how many trips to Mermet they have made depends sometimes on what they call it.
Mermet Springs September 2014
Can you believe that one year ago today started the Extreme Sports Scuba Blog? The very first post you ask? It just so happened to be the Mermet Springs September 2013 post. We’ve come full circle. Extreme Sports Scuba has had one heck of an exciting year, that’s for sure!
This year there was just one trip to Mermet Springs. Extreme Sports Scuba was represented at Mermet Springs with around 50 divers. How cool is that? Different groups went down at different times, in fact, we had a small group that went down on Thursday and got in an extra day of diving. The rest of us took off for Illinois on Friday.
Now for those who made the trip to Mermet Springs or for those of you who have talked to anyone who made the trip… you may or may not have heard about the fun that was had in the middle of the night. Safari Hunt 2014
So for those of you who knew or maybe didn’t know… the scuba blogger was pregnant at the beginning of the summer. With my due date June 26, Deb told me I had to stay home during the Safari Hunt so I had to rely on others to get pictures for me. I finally got all the pictures collected and it is time to do a recap.
The annual Safari Hunt was held on June 21, 2014 at Indian Creek on Beaver Lake. The Safari Hunt is a great time to come down to the lake and be among your scuba diving family not to mention if you are diving that day you have the chance to win some really good prizes. Continue reading
