Rolandi’s Restaurant Bar & Pizzeria {Cozumel, Mexico}

If and when you go on a trip to Cozumel, Mexico, and I highly suggest you should at some point in your life, I have a restaurant here that you definitely need to try! Now, I know, if you are staying at Hotel Cozumel and Resort, it is an all inclusive resort where meals are included, but if you are interested in trying some of the local cuisine, check this place out. It’s within walking distance of the hotel and it’s called Rolandi’s Restaurant Bar & Pizzeria.

One other thing I need to point out at this point in time… I am not a restaurant critic (but how much fun would that be?!?!), I’m just sharing some of the places we’ve eaten at in Cozumel and how much we enjoyed their cuisine.

Rolandi’s Restaurant Bar and Pizzeria

If you are in the mood for pizza, this is the restaurant for you. This trip, however Grady ordered a steak that looked amazing! It smelled amazing too. He was at the other end of the table from where I was sitting so I didn’t get a photo of it sadly. I hear he even shared a couple bites with those around him. Remind me again why I didn’t sit next to him!

Just like restaurants here in the U.S., drinks come first. One thing you quickly realize in Cozumel is your drinks come in containers and they bring a glass of ice on the side. Sometimes with the water, you may not get the glass with ice and you’ll just have to ask. They’ll get you one.

Look at that view

I’d like to say the main reason for coming here is the food, but that’s not totally the case. I’ll admit, they have great food, but the view. They are right on the water. They even face the west so I would highly suggest coming of an evening close to sunset and watch that beautiful view. It’s gorgeous!

Last year when we ate here and this year as well, the clouds ate the sunset just before it hit the horizon, but still, this view is spectacular!

There is even a beautiful view up and down the coast to the North and South of the restaurant. (The above picture is north, the below photo is south.)

Back to the food

One of the starters they bring is this “bread.” It’s not quite like bread as we know bread here in the U.S. but it’s amazing. I think I’ve used that word quite often, but there are just no words. This is kind of like a bread style tortilla covered in garlic butter/oil. It is served with extra virgin olive oil and balsamic vinegar. Most of us probably agree that we could have made a meal out of this alone.

This is Potato soup. The Blogger in Training went with us on this trip. As some of you know, she’s 2 (almost 3). I want to commend this restaurant as well as most of the restaurants we ate at around Cozumel, they didn’t make her wait for her food. They brought it out before the rest of us had our meals. That’s not always the case here in the U.S. She’s usually the last one to get her food here.

Oh the soup? She licked the bowl clean and someone else (Mark maybe) had a bite of it. He said it was really good too.

This is the Margherita Pizza. Find people around you who don’t mind you taking photos of their food. They may look at you strangely but I was trying to get a variety for you to see. I still wish I had a photo of Grady’s Steak!

Finally, one last food photo. This is a Rolandi’s Calzone where I subbed Alfredo sauce for the red sauce. It is a great combination of toppings, cheese, and bread topped with a dab of red sauce and basil. Oh, you want to know what the toppings were? I can help you out…. Filled with asparagus, mozzarella cheese, mushrooms, cooked ham, subbed with Alfredo sauce, and olive oil and fresh basil. You’re welcome!

So what I’m saying is when you make the voyage to Cozumel, walk the few blocks (don’t know how many but not far) and go check out Rolandi’s. I think next time I’ll try the steak. Yes, I’m stuck on the steak.
