How to Enter/Carve in the Underwater Pumpkin Carving
Let’s talk Underwater Pumpkin Carving today. As you know, the 21st annual Underwater Pumpkin Carving is approaching quickly! Like faster than quickly if that’s even possible. Did you realize we’re into the last 90 days of the year already? How on earth did that happen? But focus… The Underwater Pumpkin Carving… Sunday, October 14, 2018, at 1 pm at Beaver Lake, Indian Creek Campground.
Do I need to give you that information again? I really don’t want you to miss it so let’s break it down…
- When: October 14, 2018
- Where: Indian Creek Campground, Beaver Lake, Arkansas
- Time: 1 pm
- Entry Fee: $6.
Oooh, it’s a good thing I broke that down, I remembered to add the entry fee. That entry fee is a good thing because… wait for it… There will be cash prizes for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners. Hear that? Cash Prizes! Who couldn’t use a couple more dollars this time of year what with having to buy candy and trick-or-treating outfits, or how about Chili Cookoff items? Oh wait, that’s another story… but keep that one in the near middle of your brain. That is coming up soon too! Continue reading
Kayaking (on FeelFree Kayaks)
Let’s talk Kayaks for a minute. First off, I’m sure you know that Extreme Sports deals in Kayaks, right? If not, I just shared a little secret with you. Do you like feeling like a part of the club now? haha. But seriously, let’s talk about FeelFree Kayaks.
Labor Day weekend is known as the working man’s holiday. Why? Well, it is a tribute to the working man. It is supposed to be a vacation… the “last” summer weekend. I use quotes because summer doesn’t officially end until September 22 (this weekend), but people think that it’s the last weekend of the summer. And a lot of people try to soak up those rays as best they can.
This last Labor Day I got to go Kayaking! Have you ever been kayaking? It’s a lot of fun! You should try it!!
FeelFree Kayaks
I’m not really sure how it all came about, but I got to go Kayaking. For I don’t know how long, all of the Weston’s have said, “let’s go kayaking,” but it hadn’t happened until now. We actually went down to Underwood’s Crag-O-Lea which is the site of our Trails for Kids (in the spring), Big Sugar Creek there in Pineville, Missouri. Continue reading
Save-a-Dive Kit
Let’s picture this for a minute. The hype is there, the excitement… of going diving. You get to the dive, put your gear together, and BAM, you’re missing something. Something important such as an O-ring, you have dead batteries, you’re diving with a DIN and need to make the valve fit… endless possibilities. So no dive for you, right? SAD! Oh, wait… SAD could be an acronym for Save-A-Dive Kit! No more “sad day” for you!!
You’ll get into your Save-a-Dive Kit, pull out what you need, save the dive, and have fun. But you say you don’t have a Save-a-Dive Kit? Never Fear! We’re here to help you create a SAD (no more) Kit so you won’t have to be sad. (I wonder if Deb is shaking her head at me… for my punniness…)

It’s Labor Day Weekend. That means for some that it is the end of summer. That also means the start of Football soon! We’re good with that around here! Go Chiefs!!
Since it’s Labor Day weekend I don’t want to take up too much of your time. Hopefully, you are out enjoying the weather and soaking up the sun. But, to keep in tradition, let’s look at the posts from the previous month.

Extreme Diver Interview – Austin Bond
Happy Wednesday! I really don’t want to think about it being Wednesday because I’m on vacation and that means my vacation is halfway over. Bummer! But, that doesn’t stop the blogger. So… with that said, let’s get to it. Today, I want to introduce you to Bond, Austin Bond… that is. haha. Oh, that was so fun to say… such as James Bond – 007. Okay, anyway, time for diver interview with Austin Bond.

#BlogJuly 2018
Does anyone else feel like they blinked and June and July were over? August is here. That means the kiddos are starting to think about Back to School. Where did summer go? Of course, then you have this group that just got back from Curaçao. I can’t wait to hear all the stories and adventures that go along with that group trip. I kept getting text messages with pictures all while they were gone. Jealous! But the main thing is they had fun and we get to hear about all the fun… Am I right?
But with the end of another month comes a recap of the blogs… so, let’s get to it, shall we?

Tank Talk 3
Good coffee morning, or iced tea, or soda pop, or whatever you’re drinking. I’m working on my coffee but you can join me with any drink you want.
I don’t get all excited by wetsuits, normally, although I’ve spent a lot of time in one lately. I’m going to have to tell you about 2 new products SCUBAPRO has come up with that I can get excited about.
The first is the SCUBAPRO “Definition.” I’ve used both the 3mm and the 5mm. First, they have a heat shield lining that does a good job of keeping you warm, and in all the diving I have done with both, I’ve remained very comfortable. But that’s not what excites me. What excites me is how easy it is to get in and out of the wetsuit. Normally, I wear SCUBA socks to help get wetsuits on, but with these, they just slide on… at least easy for a wetsuit. It’s even easy for an “old man” like me. Continue reading
Tank Talk 2
We have had a lot of open water classes going on this year. Justin, Chuck, and Doug have been working with various Benton County fire, law enforcement, and rescue personnel and have certified over 30.
Back in Joplin we have certified over 25 people already and have more classes coming up. So if you think you want to get certified or have a friend to get certified, now is the time!
We have lots of people who are really interested in SCUBA for different reasons and people are doing lots of travels. If you want to blog about your travels, hit up our blogger. We always want to hear about everyone’s trips.
Speaking of traveling, come join us on one of our group trips. We have so much fun. Why should you go with a group? Ease of traveling, someone to help you in case of problems, and lots of stories to boot. Continue reading
#BlogJune 2018
And just like that, another month has come and gone. Welcome July and a much-needed rain! If you were at the lake during the Safari Hunt, did you notice how far the lake was down? We need rain! I woke up to that thunder rolling and then the pounding rain on the roof. I did a little happy dance!
The end of the month means another month’s blog recap! I’ll quit gabbing and get to the point! :). Continue reading
