Extreme Diver Interview – Karen Weston

Here I sit on a Wednesday morning wondering what words of wisdom I can offer you… I learned last night while sitting in my Medieval British Literature class that don’t put Pop (soda…) in a water bottle that has a flip top that turns into a lid. My laptop, the girl that sits in front of me, her laptop, the chair in front of her, the floor in front of that, all sticky with RC Cola. It came from the guy who sits 2 desks over from me to my right. Yup, that was a valuable lesson. Now how can I tie that in with our diver today? Well… Our diver today works in retail and you buy not only drinks but the water bottles at the store. Bam, that’s how you do it. And I think Emeril Lagasse would be proud of my BAM! Anyway let me introduce you to Karen Weston, Deb and Grady’s daughter in law.

How did you get started diving?

Deb and Grady bought us a trip for our honeymoon to Cozumel so I had to get certified.

How long have you been diving?

May 2008

How many dives do you make in a typical year?

Maybe one but it’s Jared’s fault… he doesn’t like to go.

What other hobbies do you have?

Riding horses and camping.

Where is your favorite place to dive?

Cozumel

What is your most comical dive experience?

Blacking both of my eyes on our honeymoon, second day out at around 100 feet.

What is your occupation?

Retail manager

Words of wisdom/tips or tricks for fellow divers?

Have fun and don’t dive with Jared if you want him to stay close to you
