Extreme Product Feature – Everflex 3/2 Wet Suit

While it technically isn’t summer until June 20, people kind of mark the beginning of summer with Memorial Day Weekend. Once summer hits, typically kids are out of school and summer vacations are on the rise, going here, there, and everywhere. Summer also tends to be a good time for diving destinations. This morning I was packing up my bag to go help with summer camp and I grabbed my Everflex 3/2 wetsuit and realized that this is a great all around wetsuit for diving destinations.

Everflex 3/2

Recently we discussed the Everflex 5/4 wet suit. This is the sibling wet suit to the 5/4 (did you know there’s a thing going around now that you aren’t supposed to tell your kid if they are a boy or girl until they’re 30? That’s why sibling… hahahahaha).

So with the 5/4 we learned that the designers work to make this suit better and better each year. But what are some specifics about this suit. I know, I know, come on blogger, get on with it…. Basically for the overall gist, report back to the Everflex 5/4, but let’s learn about the Everflex 3/2.

The Everflex 3/2 qualifies as a Class C wet suit. They claim that rarely will that happen… but what in the world is a Class C wet suit? I wasn’t sure so that’s where my good friend google came in to play. Here’s what I can share with you….

So this shows that this wetsuit is comprised of superior materials, durable construction, and a design to make the Everflex 3/2 the wetsuit of choice. Hey… I own one. And if you buy a 2017 wet suit, it’s made with that X-Foam we learned about also. Refer back to this blog post if you’re wondering what that is. I’m trying not to be a broken record!

So Technical Aspects:
  • Made from 100 percent Everflex neoprene, an X-Foam formulation, for durability and better health.
  • Suits are assembled using a solvent-free water-based glue.
  • Multi-thickness panels deliver a superior combination of warmth and flexibility.
  • Pure Design Concept uses fewer seams and panels for maximum flexibility.
  • Double blind-stitched outer seams are durable and watertight, and single blind-stitched inner seams are comfortable against bare skin.
  • New nylon thread resists abrasion for longer suit life.
  • Diamond Span inner lining’s water-draining material enhances cold-water protection. For 2017, it is combined with a second lining for improved stretch, making donning and doffing that much easier.
  • Diagonal back zipper offers increased long-term durability and ease of use.
  • Glideskin seals at the wrist, ankles and neck minimize water intrusion.
  • 3/2mm suit features single Glideskin seals at the wrists.
  • Compression-molded zipper flap/spine pad reduces water entry and increases back protection.
  • Tatex knee and shoulder pads offer protection against abrasion.
  • Seat area is also protected with an abrasion-resistant outside lining to increase durability and extend the life of the suit.
  • Extensive range of new sizes for both men and women means all divers can enjoy the perfect fit and the ultimate in comfort.
  • Available in 16 men’s and 17 women’s sizes. Available Sizes:
    • Men: S, ST, MS, M, MT, LS, L, LT, XLS, XL, XLT, 2XLS, 2XL, 3XL, 4XL, 5XL.
    • Women: 2XS, XS, S, ST, MS, M, MT, LS, L, LT, XLS, XL, XLT, 2XLS, 2XL, 3XL, 4XL.
      • Abbreviations for second letters: S= short, T=Tall. For example, a MT is a Medium Tall, a LS is a Large Short.

This is a great wet suit to have in your arsenal of wet suits. For the warmer water you won’t get too hot but it helps when you dip below that thermocline and hit a bit cooler water. They also pack nicely. With that said, if you are looking for a great new 3mm wet suit, come check out this beauty and talk to us. We’re here to help! Luckily my 3/2 has enough white on it that my husband and I may not get them mixed up. That’s another story for another day though…. (don’t worry, it’s coming soon!)
